Deewa returns this October to celebrate the Festival of Lights, one of the most anticipated events of the year for the South Asian community in the Greater Toronto Area. The annual gala brings you a weekend of South Asian entertainment, glamour, and style to celebrate Diwali.
Diwali is a celebration that dates back to ancient times, and every year after the summer harvest. The significance of the festival of lights to demonstrate the triumph of good over evil, expelling darkness with light. For many South Asians, Diwali marks a period of pure joy and many families hold feasts and parties where they exchange gifts. It is an official holiday in many countries with a South Asian population.
